BimmerWorld Racing 2024 SRO Season Announcement: Feb 14, 2024

BimmerWorld Racing is excited to unveil its plans for the 2024 season in SRO Motorsport America, featuring their pair of BMW Motorsport G82 M4 GT4s set to compete in the Pirelli GT4 America championship.

After a repeat performance from 2022, capturing a dominant seven wins out of the 14 races, James Clay and Charlie Postins clinched their second of a pair of back-to-back GT4 America AM championships in 2023. Looking to achieve a three-peat, Clay and Postins are ready to suit up and strap into the No. 36 OPTIMA Batteries / Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems USA BMW G82 M4 GT4.

“Charlie and I really enjoyed the 2023 season. We had a new car to adapt to, both as drivers and as a team, and the field’s size and competitiveness grew, making it a challenging but also extremely enjoyable and rewarding year.” Clay continued, “we have a ton of fun at the track together, and certainly, winning a second championship makes racing even more enjoyable. But we’re both eager to attempt a third consecutive championship – and have an amazing time doing it with our friends.”

2024-36

James Walker, Jr. is set to embark on his fifth season with BimmerWorld Racing, teaming up again with Tyler McQuarrie in the No. 82 Red Line Oil BMW M4 GT4. After narrowly missing the championship by one point in the last event of the season, both drivers are looking forward to the 2024 season as unfinished business.

Finishing on the podium a total of eight times, including three wins, this duo knows how to bring their M4 GT4 to the forefront. “In 2023, the duo of James and Tyler was formidable, just a single point shy of clinching the championship they led for much of the season. The chemistry between these guys as a driver pair is great, and they are both an amazing part of the BimmerWorld team,” Clay added. “We would all rather be defending the 2023 Pro-Am championship this year, but I think the desire is even higher in 2024 to capture the crown that eluded us last season.”

BimmerWorld Racing will not be competing in GT3 racing in 2024. “Our core BimmerWorld business is supplying parts for BMW road cars” explains Clay.  “This includes learning, designing, and testing our parts and our packages in a variety of environments, and most visibly on the racetrack.  We enjoyed the challenge of our GT3 program and working with a pure racecar, but it didn’t support our core racing goal.”

“But,” Clay concludes “overall, we’re thrilled to have the team back together for another fantastic year of GT4 racing!”
